Phil GamberPhil, graduate of Michigan State University in 1998, has worked as a Clinical Social Worker in the Greater Lansing area for the past ten years. He was previously employed at Sparrow Behavioral Health Services at the Outpatient Mental Health Clinic and CARES-EAP. Most recently he was an owner of Mareck and Associates, serving the Geriatric Community by providing home-based counseling and assessment services. He was co-owner of Adrian Psychotherapy Associates until 2006; a private-practice clinic which specializes in family treatment. He has clinical experience in working with children of all ages, with particular emphasis in working with teenagers and college aged adults. He works with older adults and medically frail individuals in their homes, providing assessments and on-going psychotherapy. He completed clinical training in Substance Abuse treatment; he treats addictions of all kinds and specializes in treating dually diagnosed individuals.

bethmcwhorterBeth provides mental health and substance abuse counseling services for adults, and adolescents. She specializes in women's issues, grief, relationships, depression, anxiety and developmental issues for older adolescent girls. She has also specialized in helping persons in recovery with a variety of addictions. In her work with addictions, she promotes involvement in Twelve Step meetings. Beth has her Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Michigan State University. She earned her Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Michigan State University in 1992. She has worked extensively as an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) counselor for the past ten years. She is currently paneled with many large employer insurance and EAP panels. Services that she provides also include assessments, diagnosis, referrals and facilitating psychiatric services including medication management as indicated. Clinical Experience with Children with emotional and conduct disorders. Marital/Relational Therapy. Adult individual therapy surrounding physical/sexual abuse (both victim as well as perpetrator) along with anger awareness/management, psycho-sexual disorders, in addition to other emotional issues including depression/anxiety/ and adjustment to illness. Facilitator of Cardio-Wellness group on Wednesday mornings and evenings to promote adjustment to heart disease and to address the physical/emotional depression which accompanies the diagnosis and to promote healthy lifestyle changes and balance.

Appointments by arrangement. Most insurances accepted along with a sliding fee schedule for uninsured or those desiring to not access their insurances.

lennaLenna immigrated to the United States in 1986, from Toronto Ontario. She left her native country, the former Soviet Union in 1979. She has her first Master’s Degree from the Moscow Pedagogical Institute. She has practiced as a Social Worker for over ten years since completing her Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work in 1996 at Michigan State University. She previously worked at Ingham Regional Medical Center in their Older Adult programs. She continues her work with Older Adults, providing office based and home based assessment and counseling services with Beacon Counseling Services, LLC. She has worked for the past five years with Child and Family Services providing assessment and counseling services for children, adolescents, adults and older adults. She works with children above age 7, adolescents and families, young and older adults. She works with the following issues: depression, anxiety, older adults coping with life transitions/changes, grief, children coping with special needs (adoption, foster care), marital problems, family problems, anger management with adults and children.
